Melissa holds a B.A. in psychology from The College of William and Mary, is a Certified Transpersonal Hypnotherapist, and a Certified Dog Behavior Consultant. She has studied World Religions for over ten years, with her most extensive study through William and Mary as an undergraduate. Considered by the study of the Psychology of Religion to be a “Spiritual Quester”, Melissa has gained a great deal of knowledge of many aspects interwoven within Metaphysical study such as Biofield Energy Therapy, Crystal Therapy, and Past Life Regression Therapy, all of which she offers through the Hypnosis and Healing Center.

Melissa’s other true passion in life, besides spiritual study, is animals. She has been an Animal Care Professional for over fifteen years, and has experience as a veterinary nurse, groomer, trainer, and behavior modification consultant. Her great love and respect for animals and the understanding of their role in the interconnection of life has allowed her to become an effective animal communicator and veterinary intuitive. She jokingly says, “The only natural talent I possess is working with animals!” Melissa offers animal communication and behavioral modification consultations through the Center.

Over the past couple of years, Melissa has developed an interest in the paranormal. Stemming from her spiritual study regarding the afterlife, and her psi experiences with animals, she decided to pursue her study by joining The Center for Paranormal Research and Investigation, Inc., based in Blackstone, VA. She is the organization’s Animal Behavior Specialist, and acts as a Field Investigator with the Southeast Region of the group. Her involvement in a case has garnered an appearance in an episode of the Discovery Channel’s series A Haunting, slated to air in the fall of 2007.
